While it is generally preferable to re-enroll by recording a life event on the Enrollment site, in exceptional circumstances you may enable re-enrollment in specific plans.

Note: By choosing this option, all qualifying life event settings will be ignored. This is considered an “admin override”, and thus no enrollment rules will be followed.

To enable enrollment for specific plans:

  1. Enter an end date for the new re-enrollment process in the Can enroll until text box.
  2. Enter a new effective date, if necessary, in the Forced effective date text box.
  3. Select a reason type in the Reason type drop-down box. This information will be saved in the employee record.
  4. Enter a reason for manually enabling enrollment in the Reason text box.
  5. If you want to allow the employee to change personal information, as well as update benefit plan selection, select the Allow employee to change personal information option.
  6. Select Coverage Tier Change Only if you want to restrict changes to only coverage tiers for this employee.
  7. Select the desired plans (e.g., Medical) in which you want to allow unrestricted enrollment.
  8. Click ReEnroll. BenSelect automatically opens the Enrollment site, and takes you to the location that you selected. (For example, if you selected Medical, you would go directly to the Medical application screen.)
  9. The re-enrollment process for the selected plan (e.g., Medical) begins again.
  10. Complete the enrollment process, and sign and submit the forms again.
