Click this link to view an overview of how Decision Support works in BenSelect: https://vimeo.com/177744184. (Start at 2:15 in the video.)

Decision Support

The Decision Support feature models Projected Annual Cost, projecting an employee’s out of pocket costs for medical expenses over the course of a year. In the current implementation of Decision Support, employees are able to make educated decisions on health-based coverage, reviewing information specific to the employer’s benefit offering.

To use Decision Support, you must first enable it on a case level.

Enable
Click to turn on Decision Support. Additional options are available.
Disable
Automatically selected by default for a case. Click to turn off Decision Support.
Module
When Decision Support is enabled, the Module is automatically set to “Medical”, which uses certain variables to perform the calculations used to provide the recommendations to the employee on which product to select.
Settings
Two options are provided: Default and Custom. Most of the time, you will leave the bottom section on “Default”. You should not need to change any of the other settings because they are national averages. However, you can select Custom, then enter customized costs for the service.

BenRecommend

The BenRecommend feature in BenSelect allows for the creation of related product recommendations during the enrollment process. For example, employers may want to ensure that Critical Illness is recommended to their employees as they review the Medical options. The BenRecommend module allows case builders to customize the content that will be displayed in a new "recommendation" area of the enrollment sequence, ensuring that employees are engaged and armed with information to make appropriate benefit decisions. You can create Recommendations at the case level for a specific plan for your case.
