This engine supports multi-tiered plans with benefit amounts. The engine also supports the following common product features:

  • Multiple policies
  • Riders - built-in or optional
  • Rider bundles - broker-defined rider grouping
  • Child coverage through individual policy or Child Term Rider
  • Increases - the ability to change an existing policy
  • Default coverage tier - Can set default coverage tier; if no prior coverage, default coverage tier can be set on Enrollment screen. If there is prior coverage, the Enrollment screen displays the tier of the prior coverage selected.

Refer to the underwriting offer (as well as the Rules of the Road for specific carrier products built by Selerix) provided by the carrier to determine exactly how the product should be configured.

Rates

Rates should be converted to the internal XML format and deployed on the server. If the rate file supports multiple sets of rates, select the desired rate set from the "Rate Structure" drop down.

Custom Rates

Depending upon the rate card selected, additional benefit levels may be available for selection (such as Unitobacco, High, Low, etc.). Additional configuration of age bands, and EE/ER cost may be needed.

Custom Parameters

Options provided are carrier product specific. Use the Rules of the Road and the underwriting offer to complete your selection for the case.

Relationships

Check all relationships that are allowed to be the primary insured. If more than one relationship is selected, multiple coverages for the same plan are allowed.

Feature Parameters

Feature Parameters allow for combinations of questions (such as Actively at work) to be displayed during the Enrollment process. Configure these as required for your case.

Riders

The default bundle defines riders that will be offered individually. Other bundles are offered as a single option to the user.Built-in riders are not shown on the application screen (only the confirmation screen).

Benefit Amounts

The application screen displays a list of sample benefit amounts to the user. The list will be of the specified length, starting from the largest benefit amount whose premium is less than or equal to the specified Max sample premium.

Increases

These settings determine what options will be offered to the primary insured to increase or change coverage. Select the options below carefully to match the rules set by the carrier.
